Located in downtown Louisville, on York St. between 3rd and 4th Sts. Main entrance is opposite the York side. Visitors may park at metered lot at 3rd and York Sts. Parking meters are located along 3rd, 4th and York Sts. Park-and-pay lots are located nearby. Parking for disabled persons is available.

Issues: Located alphabetically by title on shelves in the
Central area of the North building, 2nd floor. Bound (Past Years) Volumes: Located in the stacks in the West area of the North building, 2nd floor. NOTE: It is important to check with the library. Many resources may be on microfiche, microfilm, or available from full-text databases. In addition, many full-text articles are available from the LFPL website and are accessible remotely for LFPL cardholders. |

| Circulating Books (Dewey Decimal Classification) | Location: All
adult circulating books are housed in the North building. General
and specific fiction collections are located in the West and Central
areas, 1st floor. Nonfiction classifications 000-200s are shelved in
the West area, 2nd floor. Classifications 300-331 are shelved in the
Central area, 2nd floor. 332-699s are shelved in the East area, 2nd
floor. Classifications 700-899 are shelved in the West area, 1st
floor. 900s and local history and genealogy collections are shelved
in the East area, 1st floor. Public Catalog: Computerized catalogs, available on all workstations on both floors of the North building and in the Children's Dept (in the West wing of the South building), provide information on materials throughout the library system. Loan Policy: Anyone who works, lives, goes to school, or owns property in Jefferson County is eligible for a free library card. Proof of address must be provided. Fines and Lost Books: Ask at the circulation desk. |

| Nonprint Resources | Other Media: The talking Books Library for the benefit of the blind and physically disabled is located in the East area of the South building, 2nd floor. Circulating books on cassette and videotapes are located in the Central area of the North building, 1st floor. Internet access is available on most public workstations on the 1st and 2nd floors of the North building. | ||||||
| Electronic Resources | Workstations with access to research databases via the Internet and CD-ROM are available throughout the library. Internet access is available.
